What is Reflexology & how does it work?

Reflexology is a complementary health therapy, which uses the application of pressure using finger and thumb techniques to the feet, hands and/or ears.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the feet, hands & ears are known as 'microsystems', based on the principle that the entire body is mapped onto reflexive areas of the feet, hands and ears (which correspond to all glands, organs and parts of the body).

Reflexology works on these reflex zones to stimulate the body’s own healing response and assist the body to balance itself. It promotes gentle alignment of body, mind and spirit to promote well-being and may increase energy levels.

Reflexologists do not diagnose, prescribe or treat specific illnesses; rather, they treat the whole person.

To make a significant change in a condition, a client may need a series of treatments.  Weekly visits may be recommended at first until a consistent improvement is noted. This may then progress to fortnightly or monthly sessions.

Reflexology complements other therapies.

With regular reflexology, I have improvement in balance of moods and keeping grounded.  During and after a treatment, I feel a tingling flowing throughout my body,  and it always uplifts my mind and spirit.  MHB
